Look into vaccines 6-12 weeks before you travel

Don't forget, plan ahead. Some vaccines require more than one dose prior to travel. It is recommended that a traveller consult with a travel health clinic or their physician at least 3-4 weeks prior to departure. However it is never too late to get advice. Many of the vaccines will still have some benefit even if given shortly before departure.

Budget for them - unfortunately not all vaccines are covered by the government, but a number of private insurance plans may cover them.

Only officially designated medical facilities are authorized to administer the yellow fever vaccine and issue yellow fever certificates which are required for travel to many countries in South America and Africa.
